heading in a good direction

Here are a few shots of my jog the other evening.  It totally messed up the time I was keeping on my phone but I had to capture the fantastic sunset.

I hope you all are having a good week.  Mine has been odd.
Great, good, bad, frustrating & humbling.

Looking forward to the weekend.
Lots of fun to be had and I hope a time to focus on a few things.

Thank you to all the kind words and support on my first Denver Street Food article!

dear jenny, do you even eat?! i mean really...do you?

Okay people...BIG news.

Tomorrow Denver Street Food will post my first write up on their site.  You may remember my post with photos from the Paseo Food Truck.  I had been hearing about this growing culture here in Denver but had not gotten into it.  Now I can't wait to experience more!

Originally I emailed Shelly from DSF to share an idea my friend Jess had.  My hope is the idea will still come to fruition but for now Shelly asked if I would be a contributing writer for DSF.

I am VERY excited to be involved and hope I entertain and serve the people of Denver well.  The post tomorrow is a two part series so keep an eye on the site so you can keep up with my writing and the great food around my town.

Check out the site...it's run by Shelly & Georgina.  They LOVE some good food & the Mile High City.  The site it a great way to learn about the vendors and who is out there.  There is also a live Twitter feed so you can keep up on where the food is.
There are a ton of other vendors I can't wait to try!

In other news, I started running yesterday.

be mine?

Hi!

I know its been a while.  Life is busy, man.

Look at the super cute earrings my madre brought me on her very short visit this weekend!  Thanks, mom!

First off, I realized as I am older I still got 'Valentines' from my friends.  They weren't in the form up tear-away cards put on my desk or boxes of candy hearts but rather in the form of texts.  I got plenty of 'Valentines' today.

Some sweet:  from my little brother.

Some single girl power: "Happy V Day, woman.  Singles unite!"

Some VERY funny:
Friend:  "Roses are red.  Violets are blue.  This is a text wishing a Happy Valentines Day to all the pretty girls in my phone, including you!"
Me:  "Oh, man.  I want you to be my Valentine.  Watcha say?"
Friend:  "It's official."
Me:  "Heads up I like hand holding."
Friend:  "Heads up I like booty rubbing."

....that's just sweet, isn't it?!  I consider myself warned.  Anyway, I have another hilarious one from my neighbor but I think 'booty rubbing' is as far as I'll go on here.

Some funny, dry and self depreciating:

I was looking for some fun pics of hearts to post but didn't really find anything I liked.  Then I remembered I had this print saved on my desktop.  Not sure where I got this so I apologize for no photo credit.  Anyway, I love it.  It's not really sweet or cheery but I like it...look at how beautifully that umbrella was drawn!  Please know I'm not some grump bc I don't happen to have a Valentine at the moment.

Soooo that's a long excuse about how this photo doesn't represent my true Valentines feelings.

i blinked and it went by.

Hope you all had a nice weekend.  Mine was quick but diverse.

I had my friends pup, Toby, for the weekend.  It snowed like crazy so I took him to the park and we ran and ran and ran...he was SO happy.

We were the only ones there.

It was beautiful & quiet.

My friend Linds accompanied me on a tasting around town.
Pic below, more info to follow in the coming week(s).

I also spent some time with my gf's on Saturday night hanging out and catching up since it had been forever since I had seen them.

Now they are both off, jetting away and I am focusing on a busy upcoming week.

problem.

ummmmm...yeah.

i'm cleaning and picked these up from around my place.

dear jenny, do you even like nice weather?!

I was in St. Pete for a breif moment last week to throw a baby shower for a friend.  Here are some photos of my visit.  Take a look at the baby shower photos here.
I only took one...of the cupcakes....SHOCKER.
I wasn't home for long but its was nice to spend some time in the sunshine & warmth.  Also got to catch up on much needed sleep at my moms house as the past few months have been jammed packed with meetings and work and volunteering...& of course a bit of play.

Here are a few photos of my week...

Cupcakes.
Visited the Chihuly Collection with my friend Jess.

I made a few visits to Mecca.  aka PUBLIX.

Spent the day I left with my momma...this is the new Dali museum.
Can't wait to take some time to go through it.

We drove to Gulfport to go to one of my fav restaurants, Tangelos, but they are closed on Mondays.  A few scenes from Gulfport.

Ended up at Chattaway's for a yummy burger and iced tea!  It was so nice to sit in the sun.  I got a bit red with this white winter skin I rock.

Then we went downtown & got gelato.

My view from our sidewalk table.

We drove through my fav neighborhood, Driftwood.  It's this hidden spot on the south side of St. Pete.  I stumbled upon it a few years before I moved.  There's a house for sale in there...if only I had the money!

Visited with my sista-friend, Heather.

My brother and his gf came over from Orlando and we had lunch with my grandfather.  Doesn't he look cute in his shirt and sweater vest?!

Peg made this rule.  When we turn 30 all of our old toys and keepsakes must go.  Bless her for keeping all of my crap.  Big brother turns 30 at the end of the month so he packed his trunk full of GI Joe's and headed back to Orlando.  Dont think he was all that pumped about it.

I've got about 14 months.  Time to start preparing for the mounds of barbies and books that are stacked in my mom's house.
